How Can a Painful Bruise On The Neck Be Treated?

My husband fell and has a bad bruise on the left side of his neck. There is also a bloody scratch. I put ice on it. He says he is not in pain but refuses to go to a hospital, He is also on blood thinners and had some veins broken on his left arm also. What else can I do?

clean the part with sterile gauge. if required can take inj tt. apply providone iodine externally.if posible get checked by doctor since thereis fall then may have to take x-ray to exclude fracture.
